So I never used to be a fan of scented candles - quite frankly, I didn't see the point of them. A couple of Yankee candles and one Jo Malone candle later, I am HOOKED.
Get home - put a scented candle on. Get ready for bed.. put a scented candle on. Stay in on a Sunday - PUT ALL THE CANDLES ON.
I still haven't got a favourite brand yet, so I love trying new candle brands. However, as seasoned candle fans will know, not every brand is good! Some are weak, some just look nice and some don't even smell of anything once burning.
Today I'm trying a candle from the new Florence Anne range at Boots - but was it any good?
This is the Florence Anne Fragrance Grapefruit and Lime candle. HIYA.
On first glance, it is beautiful and elegant - a lovely glass jar with a shiny, stylish metal lid (very Jo Malone non?)
Named after Florence Anne Boot (wife of Jesse Boot, founder of Boots), the Florence Anne Fragrance range is inspired by Florence Anne's love of botanical fragrances and the collection is created with high quality ingredients. But does it show when you burn the candle?!
The answer for me is unfortunately no. I love the scent - grapefruit and lime is right up my street! It's sharp but fruity when you smell it up close but in reality, the fragrance doesn't fill the room and I can only smell it up close.
So whilst it looks great and smells nice, the fragrance is not powerful enough. This is probably because it doesn't have enough perfume oil within the candle - MORE INTENSITY PLEASE!
Such a shame as it really does look expensive and classy and only £12! I really wanted to like it, but I wouldn't buy another candle from this range.
I might look into the reed diffusers though! They also do Blackcurrant & Fig and Patchouli & Clove - sounds lovely, I'm very tempted...
What are your favourite candle brands? What candle do I need to try next!?
