I know it's still Summer (it IS) but today I've got a step-into-the-future sneak peek at the Christmas coming. Don't get me wrong, I am still very much in the world of bronzing, florals and fake-baking myself but who doesn't love a preview?! As long as you dont offer mince pies in July (which is definitely where the line is btw)
For fans of Nails Inc, Stila and Japonesque, I've got some pictures which will certainly feed your cosmetic-crack addiction and there's some lesser known but equally tasty makeup morsels to wet your appetite.
Let's get stuck in shall we?
Held in the heart of Soho, the Christmas preview featured so many of my favourite brands - Vichy, Japonesque, Nails Inc, Paul & Joe, La Roche Posay to name a few.
It's gonna be hard narrowing it down to my top products but here are the biggest buy-me-now heroes from the night....
Which one do you like the best?
Have you seen the new Nails Inc design? The glossy, metal caps are still there but it's SQUARE. Very cool.
They will look insanely stunning on your shelf but without sounding like an idiot - I'm genuinely struggling to open them. I think you have to take the lid off before unscrewing the cap, but it's just a bit too much hassle..
The cosmetic cracker in the room had to be the Japonesque range - look at that packaging! Isn't it stunning? Great quality colours too, I picked up the Velvet Touch Duo Eyeshadow which I can't wait to use for a navy smokey eye. It's very finely milled and super blendable.
Another beautifully packaged brand, Paul & Joe is notorious for it's retro looking cases and this season is no different. Look at those lipsticks! I'm glad the design emphasis is on the case and not on the lipstick. Do you remember those cat shaped lipsticks that Paul & Joe did? I wouldn't have been able to use those for fear of ruining it!! Beautiful case yes, beautiful product, no.
Next up, Rouge Bunny Rouge is a brand I've dabbled in but it's slightly too expensive for me to investigate further. I love this eyeshadow palette though, it could be the straw that breaks the camels bank balance, I think I might have to invest!
There's always ONE colour in the palette that you won't use but I honestly think I would use all of these eyeshadows!
This is a little known brand called Surrat Beauty - from celeb makeup artist Troy Surrat. Mentored by the legendary Kevyn Aucoin, this line is really new - it launched in the US less than a year ago and employs the best Japanese cosmetic technology to create superior products!
My favourite was the design-your-own palette which was the perfect handbag sized palette in which to put your favourite eyeshadows and blushers. I can't wait to find out more about this range!
So much great makeup, I can't even begin to decide what's my favourite! I'm really looking forward to seeing more of Surrat Beauty but for me, the winners have got to be Paul & Joe's packaging and the beautiful floral designs from Japonesque.
My only complaint is.... why do I have to wait so long?! I want to buy it all now!!
