As the festive season gets into full swing, the attire in the office is noticeably more casual. Christmas lunch coming up? Business-casual. Christmas drinks after work? Business-casual.
Business-casual is one of those awful dress-codes which tell you almost everything and yet NOTHING at the same time. What does it mean?! Do I have to wear a shirt? Am I allowed to show my arms? Does it have to have a collar?
Here's my take on the infamous B-C. And I'm doing it, like a dude, with a men's grey marl t-shirt and a long-line boyfriend fit blazer.
|Bag: Michael Kors (Bicester)|
Grey Marl T-shirt: Burton
Long-line Blazer: New Look
Necklace: New Look
Black skinny trousers: Zara
Grey marl t-shirts are my absolute go-to top for any outfit. They're the winter equivalent of a plain white tee and can be dressed up or down according to the occasion. This grey t-shirt is from Burton/my boyfriends wardrobe.
To keep the boy-casual look feminine, I've layered on a winter berry lipstick - it's this lovely Sleek True Colour lipstick in Cherry.
A powerful punch of red, but not too girly.
And for another shot of colour - an electric blue Michael Kors Bedford Bowling bag. One of my babies!
This was a birthday present to myself - from myself - courtesy of Bicester village! You can check out my Bicester haul here.
Rolling up the sleeves - a classic Zoe Dubs move.
Rolling up the sleeves adds a casual vibe to any jacket - ideal for when you're wearing a smart jacket but don't want to come across too formal either.
It also works when you're wearing something that's too big for you - ie any item of menswear!
I bought this necklace absolutely yonksss ago from New Look and completely forgot about it. One of those spur of the moment buys, you know?
I randomly came across it again and now, i can't stop wearing it!!
I love re-discovering old pieces - it's almost like you bought some new. Almost....
So there we go - business-casual, boy style.
What's your go-to top in your wardrobe? A classic white tee? Or something more exciting?
Do you buy menswear too? I say 'buy', that includes borrowing/stealing from your partner's wardrobe too..
