Nars Guy Bourdin Crime Of Passion Palette - The One

After countless hours of searching, swatching and shopping.... I have found the one. The perfect palette. The palette that's small enough slip into my handbag, the one that transforms my daytime look to night-time but also the palette that has enough flexibility to use as a travel kit.

This, my dear friends, is the Nars & Guy Bourdin Crime of Passion Palette! I only bought it the other day, but I couldn't waiiiit to show you - so I've written a short introductory post - the full post with swatches and looks will follow next week.

(In my rush to show you, I've had to use photos from my phone - taken late last night. Soz)

I bought this Crime of Passion palette yesterday at Selfridges following my "what shall I buy at Selfridges" post. You'll see from that post, I originally was going to get the Laura Mercier version (which is a couple quid cheaper) but the shades on the Laura Mercier Colour-To-Go palette are not quite as flexible.

What's in it? Read on!

This Crime of Passion palette, inspired by the French photographer Guy Bourdin, is part of the Holiday 2013 collection. And it's just been released in store this month!  (my timely shopping makes me feel waaaay ahead of the curve)

It has three eyeshadows, a blush, a bronzer and a lipgloss. Everything you need rigt? The photos aren't true to colour having being taken inside at night with no flash but if you know your Nars shades, they are as below:
  • Jezebel Eyeshadow  (shimmery, pale biscuit)
  • Naiade Eyeshadow  (medium dark brown with warm undertones)
  • Pandora Eyeshadow  (matte black)
  • Deep Throat Blush  (warm rose peach)
  • Laguna Bronzing Powder  (Light brown with a pinch of warm shimmer)
  • Deep Throat Larger Than Life Lipgloss

What I love is the multi-purpose-ness of of it all!  (not a word, but whatevs)

The black shade can be used damp or dry as eyeliner, the pale shade can be patted on cheekbones and in the inner corner of the eyes for highlighting. The bronzer and brown shade allows me to customize my contouring and the blusher, the infamous Deep Throat, adds a pop of colour to flat cheeks.

And if I'm really desperate, I can use the browns/blacks on my brows too!

Colour's are not true to actual in this photo, but you get the ideaa

The best part is that this palette is only £35! When i heard the price, i was surprised - I was expecting it to be at least £40.

I haven't had a real chance to try them out on my face yet, but I think Nars has great quality powders which all give great colour pay-off. The worst thing is when you buy a palette and the colours aren't how they look in the pan!

So what do you think of my latest purchase then?

Do you have any of these colours?

What are you still searching for? Have you found The One  yet?
