Where Did She Get That Glow? Urban Decay : Naked Flushed Palette

There has been a lot of talk about the Urban Decay Naked Basics eye palette and believe me – there’s going to be an equal amount of ooohing over the new Naked Flushed cheek compact from Urban Decay.

With a contour, colour and highlighter all in one convenient compact, this is the one-stop shop for pretty cheek perfection.

Perfect for doing your face on the go, OR for girls who just don't have enough space to hoard separate products. Here's how I do it...

You can use the colours individually to shape and sculpt your cheeks, OR you can blend them together to get a gorgeous glowy colour which is very reminiscent of ‘Oh, I just got off............ the plane’ (where did you think I was going with that? AH?)

But seriously – it looks and feeeeels luxurious to use – the textures are softly milled and more importantly, the powders are ultra-blendable. No more harsh lines like zebra crossings across your face!

For high-drama lovers, the brown shade isn’t quite dark enough to create razor-sharp cheekbones for medium skin-tones but its good for day-time contouring and looks really natural.

Lighter-toned lovelies will get more definition from the brown shade – and the pink should be used sparingly on fair skin as it really is true to the colour you see on the palette.

What you see is actually what you get

This is what I love about Urban Decay – none of those annoying colours that look so so lovely in the packaging but turn up late, all half-arsed and “oh the traffic was really bad, waaa” on your face.

The Naked Flushed powders arrive, on time and on schedule, probably with a little housewarming present in hand – the perfect guest for any cheeks. Ahhh.

Ignore the stray hair making a bid for freedom across my face haha

How to get the look?

  • Apply the darker colour in the hollows of your cheeks to create the illusion of shadow (see the rectangle in brown)

  • Sweep the pink colour on the apples of your cheeks for a natural blush (red octagon - i counted the sides)

  • Swish the highlighted in a squashed C shape along the top of your cheekbones where the light would normally catch it (the pink circle)

  • Blend edges lightly with a fan brush or a large powder brush.

Easy peasy lemon squeezy! (gosh, that looks lamer in print that I do saying it!)

I wore it to work yesterday and the colour lasted all day. Its high quality stuff - no parabens, no mineral oils, no alcohol - and Urban Decay do not test on animals.

The Naked Flushed Palette is available here from LookFantastic at £20 AND they do FREE DELIVERY. I think the price is pretty good given that you get three multi-purpose colours to use.

So if you're looking to treat yourself on V-Day (or HINT to your other half) - this is an ideal little treat for a hit of instant pretty.

Any keen contourists and blush fans out there? What do you think of the urban Decay Naked range?

Would you buy this palette? Cos I would!!
